Leave the Noise Behind and Enjoy   -
the Quietest Green Nd:YCOB Laser

Quiet – low noise (<1%) inherent in the diode pumped self-frequency doubled process

Compact – 1.5"H x 1.5"W x 7"L

Dry – Nd:YCOB lasers are non-hydroscopic - the crystal can be boiled in water without damaging it

High Damage Threshold – Nd:YCOB can provide high duty cycle operation, yet not crack under the stress and strain of work

Reliable – as a result of the Nd:YCOB laser's design simplicity, your Nd:YCOB laser will not abandon you when you need it the most

Stable – only one crystal to mount - laser is self-frequency doubling - no second harmonic generator to drive you unstable

Ageless – your single crystal won't grow old and gray on you - no KTP gray tracking problem

Simple – the Nd:YCOB laser has only 1 laser crystal to cut with 2 optical surfaces to polish and coat - resulting in half the complexity of other laser technologies like Vanadate/KTP that have 2 optical crystals to cut and 4 optical surfaces to polish and coat

Thrifty – your Nd:YCOB won't break your pocketbook like other lasers, such as microchip MCA (monolithic assembly) lasers that have 3 crystals to cut, polish and coat

Smart – this laser was designed to add beam delivery optics and for easy mounting

Nd: YCOB Diode-Pumped SFD lasers

Self-frequency doubling (SFD) has been demonstrated in other materials, such as NYAB. However, commercialization of an SFD has not been possible for reasons such as poor optical quality, size limitations, or self-absorption. Nd:YCOB is a new laser host material which has excellent optical quality, can be grown in large sizes, does not suffer from self-absorption, and is non-hydroscopic. Moreover, the absorption bands of this material overlap ideally with the emission of 800nm high power laser diodes, making efficient diode-pumping a reality.

Self-Frequency Doubling (SFD)

Efficient visible laser emissions from solid state lasers are normally accomplished with the use of non-linear optical crystals such as LiNbO4, KTP, or KDP. These crystals are oriented with precision inside the resonator of a solid state laser. With self-frequency doubling (SFD), the laser host material also acts as the non-linear frequency conversion element. This greatly simplifies design and improves reliability, while at the same time reduces the cost to manufacture the laser.
