The fiber optic beam delivery option is designed for ease of integration. Harmonic generating crystals and the fiber optic coupling components are mounted inside the laser. There is no need to add an external box to the laser head. Only the fiber optic is external to the laser head.

BrightStar Alexandrite Lasers are Industrialized, Air-Cooled, UV / Visible / IR Alexandrite Lasers - and are unique because they are conductively air-cooled and have no internal or external cooling fluids. The development of the conductively cooled alexandrite laser has resulted in the highest efficiency operation of these lasers with a greater than 3% wall plug efficiency, resulting in a laser that uses less power than a hair dryer to operate, and can have output energies of > 3 Joules.

This is achieved by utilizing the close match in thermal expansion of sapphire and alexandrite and the good optical transmission properties and hardness of sapphire. Hence the pump cavity/chamber made of sapphire was developed. The heat generated by the flash lamp discharge raises the temperature of the pump chamber components to the laser operational point, and is maintained by a heat exchanger connected to the pump chamber. The removal of the cooling fluids from the pump chamber eliminates the normal requirements of high purity and optical transmission.

This technology has allowed us to produce the hottest (high energy), highest efficiency air-cooled solid state Alexandrite lasers in the world, that run off of 110 Volts. Laser Energetics, Inc. holds 5 patents that pertain to this technology.
